Full Mouth Reconstruction in Avondale, Auckland

Poor oral health, including periodontal disease, teeth grinding, trauma and inadequate home or professional care, contributes to broken-down teeth.

Circumstances often prevent intervention until the problem is quite advanced. No matter how complex your treatment needs, you can count on the personal care you deserve from our caring and experienced dentists.

While many surgeries repair individual teeth, advanced knowledge is required to address the problem of a broken-down mouth. Our dentists' advanced training has made it possible to deliver this valuable treatment to our Avondale community.

The results speak for themselves.

Our Approach to Full Mouth Dentistry

As with all patients, beginning with a comprehensive evaluation will reveal any underlying conditions that should be addressed before starting restorative treatment.

Treating gum disease and decay beforehand will give patients the results they deserve. We may also address misalignment so that the restorative dentistry we design fits and functions comfortably.

Misalignment on its own can contribute to the breakdown of healthy teeth. When teeth do not align properly, jaw pain and damaged teeth are likely.

Six Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles is a cosmetic orthodontic treatment used to improve the appearance of teeth quickly.

Invisalign Clear Braces

Crystal clear aligner trays gradually move teeth into alignment without traditional brackets and wires. Since they are removable, taking care of your teeth is easy.

The Benefits of Full Mouth Reconstruction

Full mouth reconstruction considers more than smile aesthetics. Below, your Avondale dentist shares some of the top advantages of smile reconstruction. We encourage you to contact us if you have questions.

Smile Aesthetics

If you have broken, damaged, or missing teeth, full mouth reconstruction may give you the smile you've always wanted.

Smile Health

Full smile reconstruction considers the health of your smile, concentrating on underlying issues like decay or infections.

Oral Function

When teeth are aligned and you have a complete smile, you may notice easier chewing and more productive oral hygiene.

Full mouth reconstruction in Avondale, Auckland, is a way to start over with a healthy and beautiful smile. It is one part cosmetic and one part reconstructive—a way for your dentist to address the aesthetics and wellness of your teeth and gums.

The first step in full mouth reconstruction is a consultation with the dentist. We want to learn what you’re looking for in a new smile at this chat and exam. Your dentist will also look at oral health issues that need to be addressed. This can mean anything from broken teeth to misalignment and even missing teeth.

From there, we formulate a plan to bring you to your smile goals. Possible treatment combinations can include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Veneers
  • Dental implants
  • Teeth whitening
  • Tooth-coloured fillings
  • Dental crowns
  • Six Month Smiles
  • Orthodontics
  • Dental bridges

We also take steps to preserve your new smile. If you have bruxism, for example, your dentist will talk to you about a nightguard to protect your teeth.

Restorations to Rebuild and Repair Teeth

Teeth clenching and grinding (bruxism) age teeth well beyond their years. The constant force caused by bruxism causes chips and fractures and wears enamel away.

Chronic bruxism can lead to shortened or sheared-off teeth that are the same length all the way across. Worn teeth also feel painful and sensitive because the protective enamel is gone and the exposed soft dentin is closer to the nerve.

Why Your Bite and Jaw Matter in Dentistry

If you look at a healthy smile, you will see that teeth are varied lengths. This provides guidance for the bite and improved chewing function.

Fortunately, our dentists’ in-depth knowledge of occlusal (bite) and jaw function can restore teeth to their natural appearance and comfort. This type of whole-mouth treatment improves lives.

Precise planning and design will ensure that restorations work together in harmony to repair and reconstruct a healthy smile. Dental restorations and teeth must come together comfortably to maintain healthy jaw joints.

We often combine restorative treatments including:

  • Fillings
  • Bonding
  • Crowns
  • Veneers

If tooth loss has occurred, replacing missing teeth will restore the bite.

Dental implants are the gold standard for teeth replacement. We also offer dental bridges, partial dentures and complete dentures as an alternative.

Your treatment is up to you, and we are here to help you have a smile that allows you to enjoy eating, speaking and laughing again.
